Two of my teenage classes learning English here in Spain have come up with ideas for projects. They have chosen topics that interest them and decided for themselves what their end product will be. They are:

1. Digging into the past! – filmed interviews of native English speakers living in Bilbao – a video which will show the different sides of foreign people.

2. Travel Glog (see http://www.glogster.com) – How young people can travel and enjoy their holidays saving money and having fun.

3. Hidden meaning? – explaining what a song’s lyrics are trying to tell us – a PowerPoint presentation

4. Travel notes – A travel radio show – interviews about places we have been to.

5. The new way to communicate – a glog talking about the good ways of using facebook, tuenti, flickr and fotolog and the bad things that can happen if you aren’t careful

6. Fashion for teens in Europe. Make a glog about this

7. French History between 1918 and 1945 – a PowerPoint presentation

8. The golden age of music – development of music between the 40s and 70s in the USA and UK – create a glog and a dipity - http://www.dipity.com/ - timeline

It would be great for them to have contact with other students of the same age in English who are interested in the the topic of their project. This could be via email, google docs, twitter, facebook or comments on their class blog.

It would be even better if other students decided to do projects on the same themes!
