We are using Forest School practices to enhance our learning across the curriculum, motivating children to apply their enthusiasm for learning in a natural environment, to all aspects of school life. We are interested in finding out how other schools are doing the same thing, and sharing good practise amongst a group of schools. Some of the practical skills we can share are fire-making (and cooking), den building, country crafts, whittling and growing vegetables and flowers. All children from 4 -11 work outside for one session per week, whatever the weather. We are interested in developing a Comenius partnership for this project to run over the next two academic years, but we have to be quick as applications have to be in by 21st Feb for the next round of funding. We are an english school, based in central Germany, so it would be great to team up with other european schools outside of this area.
