Summary

Do you know what town is the smallest on in the world? It's HUM, a small Istrian town in Croatia, Europe. What's the oldest town in Croatia, my homeland? It's ZADAR, my hometown. It's 3 000 year-old beauty situated on the Adriatic sea. Let's create a project together- finding the smallest, the oldest, the biggest, the tallest...in YOUR COUNTRY! stage one

A)divide sheets with a task to find out the smallest..., the biggest....the tallest...the smallest... item for a group classroom activity B) time given for accomplishing the group task C)media available

STAGE TWO:

students (in groups) exchange their answers, compare, decide what group does the most successful job

STAGE THREE:

each group design a set of superlative sentences to fill in for another group time given Statements with superlatives to be checked

STAGE FOUR:

final quiz or a designed questionnaire to recap the students' knowledge

AIM of the activity:
- expanding students' background knowledge
- fostering motivation amongst group
- learning to collaborate within a group
- organising own ideas
- becoming independent, responsible, up-to-date student
- faciliating all the media resources
