Objectives · To improve the listening and speaking skills of our students in a second language through real-time online communication · To gain confidence in the use of information and communication technology (ourselves and our students) · To encourage students to talk online in a foreign language · To develop real time skills and strategies to master their own language shortfalls and communication problems under pressure in a real-time environment · To offer real-world situations and primary resources to our students · To encourage language learning and intercultural dialogue · To evaluate the project with criteria based observation forms and self assessments · To provide guidance and concrete strategies for secondary teachers 2. Skills · Global awareness · Fluency in a second language · Listening and reading comprehension · Proficiency in ICT 3. Duration: · about 10 –16 week (after summer vacation 2009) · starting in September 2009 · 1 lesson per week during school time 4.
