At Carclaze we feel it is vital for children to gain an understanding of life outside Cornwall and in a different country.

We cover topics in St Lucia,  Australia, Greece, Mexico and China amongst others. We would welcome joining projects with schools all over the UK and the world to develop our cultural understanding.

This may be through appreciation of different religions and beliefs and everyday life both in Cornwall, the UK and beyond. We are taking part in the Comenius project further developing our links with European schools.

We have also been awarded the Full International School Award, demonstrating our commitment to developing an understanding of multiculturalism in our school.

As many areas do, Cornwall has a wealth of history and traditions far different from the rest of the country. Many children grow up not knowing the heritage of their own region and traditions become lost over time.
Therefore, part of the aims of this project page is to give children around the world insight into their own , sometimes quaint and unusual, regional heritage and celebrate them alongside those customs of other regions throughout the UK and the rest of the world.

Our year group projects - Cornish/multicultural week

At Carclaze, we are looking at what makes Cornwall unique. Each year group have taken an aspect of Cornish tradition and produced work on it. Many of these traditions are only found in Cornwall. Are there any customs or sports unique to your area/region?
