Bal Bharati staffordshire cluster project

Summary

This is a UKEIRI project involving six Bal Bharati Public Schools in India and four schools in UK namely New castle High School, St John Fischer Catholic High School, CEDARS and St Josephs Preparatory School located in New Castle -under -lyme . The project involves exploration of diverse background and culture of participating schools .The focus for the first year on exploring the local environment and environmental issues and sharing them with each other to gain a wider perspective and better insights in issues involved.. The project will provide a platform to share ideas, views and best practices across curriculum on issues pertaining to environment and citizen ship . All like minded individuals who wish to share their views are welcome to join this project

Stage 1 - Know thy partners

An exchange of letters,e- mails,cards and messages between pupils and teachers of participating schools will help them to make new friends. There will be an exchange of ideas and information of topics of mutual interest through discussion forms, opinion polls, picture galleries .

Contact Seminar
A contact seminar was organised for schools participating in UKEIRI cluster partnership 2007-10 from September 22 to sept 26 2007 at Cheshire ,UK. Bal Bharati cluster chose make partnership with Staffordshire cluster. The bal bharati cluster representatives MR S.C. Baveja, Mr L.V. Sehgal and Ms Sandhya Kakar had the opportunity to make a breif visit to partner schools
Sharing ICT Skills
A workshop has been organised at Bal Bharati Public School Brij Vihar on 8 th of May 2008 to share ICT skills and tools among students and teachers of the BAl Bharati cluster.The workshop aims to introduce portals like E-languages and various tools like photostory and bubble to share events, ideas and latest developments among members of the cluster
UK school teachers visit to INDIA
TEachers from UK schools, namely St John fischer Catholic High School, New Castle High School and St Josephs preparatory school visit their cluster partners Bal Bharati Schools from 14 th of april to 25 th April. They had the opportunity to go around schools and interact with pupils and teachers to learn about systems, values and traditions practiced in their partner schools
ICT seminar
A seminar was oraganised for UKIERI cluster partners to promote the use of ICT as a tool for connecting young people around the world and cultivating curiosity amongst them.This seminar took place at British Council New Delhi from 16 th to 18 th of April 2008.
