This project is about develpoing students' reading skills through organizing reading weeks in which students are exposed to many reading materials. Later , students are expected to produce follow-up activities.e.g posters, roles plays, models ...etc This project aims at sharing experiences in handling reading weeks around the world and improving students' reading skills.

Introducing the Reading Week

* English Teachers will conduct a workshop to introduce the Reading Week to students explaining what to be done during the event. * Another workshop will be conducted to students about using different reading strategies.

Reading Week in Practice

* Preparing the school yard, the English club room, the Learning Resource Centre...etc for the event. * Organising students into groups classwise. * Distributing reading materials among students according to their interests and level of English. * Students engage in actual reading while teachers monitor and encourage them to apply varied reading strategies.

Reading Week Exhibition

* Teachers get students to do varied follow-up reading activites, e.g posters, role plays, models...etc * Teachers organise an exhibition to display students' work and role plays... * Parents are invited to see their childrens' work and vote on best activities. * Certificates and awards are distributed among students.
