Summary

The main aim of the project was to create an opportunity for the students to gain a greater understanding of a locality beyond initial impressions of a place. The objectives are to give the students , the first hand experience in collecting data of heritage sites through a range of activities and to analyse them to identify the issues related to them such as need of conservation of these unique resources and how they could be used better to promote tourism.

Travel Brochures

Students of Richmond College, Galle, and Easingwold School, North Yorkshire exchanged travel brochures prepared by them on the tourist attractions in their own localities, in order to raise awareness of the geography, historical and cultural value and the natural beauty of the two localities.

At Richmond College four groups of ten students collected information and photographs of aincent cities in Sri Lanka through field trips, interviews, questionnaires, newspapers and magazines.
