History of Flags

What are our flags made up from? What is the significance of the colours in our flag? What do the shapes signify?

Flags from Kuweit

this flag is a combination of three flagstries of the world. ; the flag of the UAE, the new world attraction, that of Malaysia the country i dream of visiting and that of the United Nations for all the support the organization has been affording to the coun

Get your pupils to design a flag by hand or use the website above. Once the flags are produced please upload the images and give reasons for your choices.

Step 1:
Answer the following questions:

    - Where is your home?
    - What other country has affected you?
    - Where have you dreamed of going?

 

 

Step 2:
You are then given the three flags of the countries chosen. You can click and drag elements of the three flags to create your own.
Step 3:
Once finished, save your flag and then upload it onto this page with an explanation for your choices.

Students created Flags

Students are to make albums in which they shall paste and colour flags of their neighbouring countries and whom they they play cricket with (UK, Australia etc). An assignment shall be prepared to match the countries with their flags.

Hand painting - Pupils shall paint flags on each others hands.

We hope they shall develop a sense of identity and become aware of the wider world's nations,their flags and their symbolic significance.

Yogesh, I have emailed you about the wonderful work you have uploaded. Maybe you didn't receive it?? Your students must have spent a great effort doing all these flags. I particularly like the flags on the hands. Maybe also you could take the time to comment on the flags my students have made? Regards Catherine
