International Club - beginnings

Dear potential members,

I hope that you can join with our school and get involved in the project ideas with us. The whole idea for International Club has come from 6 Yr 11 students ( aged 15-16 years old) who want to get students from our school actively involved in finding out about life in other countries from people their own age. The project is open to schools from across the world so please get in touch if you would like to know more,

Thanks, looking forward to hearing from you soon,

Charlotte

Hello from the students.

Hello everybody,

We are two of the five students setting this project up. This project is part of our GCSE Citizenship coursework and is worth 60% of our final grade. We believe it's important for everyone to learn and respect each culture and we feel that by students contacting each other, they can get first hand experience of different cultures and learn to tolerate differences whilst also making friends and maybe learning languages.

We hope that you will join our project and help us out!
All ideas welcome!

Welcome Birla High School!

I would love to take this opportunity to welcome Birla High School to our project! Everyone in our club is excited about our new link and are anticipating messages from our new Indian partners in Kolkata! I'm in the process of making many presentations and exercises to introduce our students to Indian Culture. I would really appreciate some help from Birla High School! If you would like to help, just leave a message!

Hello, everybody!

On behalf of the Romanian students I would like to thank Hele's School for this opportunity. We're becoming more and more aware of the importance of multiculturality in our lives and the best way to share it is directly, peer to peer. We hope we'll learn wonderful new things about the other partners and (why not) about ourselves, too.

Hobbies and interests

So what do you like to do in your spare time? I'm seriously into reading, which makes sense when you know I'm the School Librarian here. happy to recommend books, write about my favourite books and join discussions. Not a mad keen fan of Twilight though ( don't hate me, I'm just not the right age for it). I really like the work of Suzanne Collins, author of Hunger Games. Any fans out there? I'm also currently into a hobby I took up when my children started a new activity. If I tell you it involves wearing a gi, practising katas and I really enjoy the shouting, can you guess what I do? I'm currently learning heian godan for the next grading in a few weeks time. I shall let you know how it turns out...

School Sport's Day

Dear all,

I've added some photos from our last School Sport's Day - you can see it was a bit cold and rainy that day, all quite normal for Plymouth in the summer. We don't hold the day at school but instead we go over to a special sports stadium, Brickfields, where they have a stand, proper running track and all the bits needed for long jump, javelin and field sports. What do you do?

Please let your partner schools know what you feel about school sports...a pleasure or torture for you?

Are you a sporty type of do you hate all that running around they make you do?
