This is by far the best free teaching resource that I have ever found on the internet. In my opinion every lesson that we teach should relate in some way to the message that this video gives

This was good because it made us think about facts and figures to do with conflict. It made things more real seeing just how many young people are involved in conflicts.

Made us think about the impact our actions have on the environment. Consider car size and fuel consumption, air travel.

This is a powerful presentation which can be used to discuss human rights with children and encourage them to think about the differences between their lives and those of children in developing countries.

A very useful site to create awareness of water use in a variety of situations both locally and globally. It challenged perceptions and gave opportunities to think through our personal use of water. Could only be used to with older primary children.

Hello Alex We really enjoyed what you had to show us via your PPT sides as well as what you had to say about your school. The discipline process was very interesting - it would be good to hear more about what might happen as a further measure after meeting with the parents. We also enjoyed the SOAP definition, and would like to use it. Go well Alixe

I realy like the emphasis you put on working with material that the learners may be able to find useful cause it can realy do a lot for the lack of discipline in our learners. What kind of fees do the learners pay at your school and what do your parent involvement look like?

On OBE. I don't think OBE was supposed to be used as a system, i'd rather say we were suppose to use it as a vehicle and take some positives from it. But the good thing is that the learner can now take content from different learning areas and apply it to their daily lives - as a positive

Just looking at your powerpoint presentation on water consumption - it was an eye opener again. It also shows that using technology for relevant issues and applying technology positively can create awareness through learner input where learners are part of the process. And can start asking critical questions to thamselves regaring them and water consumption.

Hi Alex I was really fascinated by our correspondance this morning. As I merely have a basic knowlegde of computers, you can imagine how absolutely in awe I was. I was also PLEASANTLY surprised to find that you also speak French. I not only teach Life Orientation but I am primarily a French and English Teacher. Thus you will understand why I'm disappointed to hear that fewer learners are now studying Foreign languages. I have had the privilege to take some learners to France and to Reunion Island as part of an exchange project. We(Belhar High School- where I've been teaching for 12 years) are hoping to host another group from La Reunion in 2007. These excanges, as you can well imagine, these experiences were not only unforgettable...but life changing. Have you ever considered embarking on an exchange programme? It appears to be easier to take learners to other countries than to actually bing the tecnlogy to the classroom! C'est bizarre!!! Au revoir.

Hey Alex, my name is Elarrio Britz .I'm 26 years of age still very young and in my 5th year of teaching. I must say that my first year of teaching was a very big learning experience. Coming straight out university they throw you sometimes in at the deep end. Well I quickly found out that what you learn is not always the way it is going to be in practise. It was a big challenge for me but the learning experience was much more enriching for me as a person and as educator as well. I think what you are doing with this global citizenship education and what I also going to do when I go back to my school, is very good. well I have to go now but I'm sure what I have learned through the presentation will have a big impact on my students when they hear it and my fellow college.
