We recently participated in 'The Big Read',(April 21st, 2009) where we sent messages to the Prime Minister Gordon Brown reminding him of his promise as part of a collective of Governments to allow every girl and boy in the world to attend school by 2015.
We decorated doors, wrote our messages and made a collage 10 Downing Street and listened to stories by Dakota Blue and Michael Morpurgo. We watched video stories of children in Tanzania, whose lives were sometimes similar to ours and more often than not, very different. We signed our names on the back of the stories to show our support for the campaign.
We were issued with certificates for our participation which we received in Good Work Assembly.
Reception Class recently worked with Year 5 class in a collaboration for the EUN's website 'Spring Day 2009', with which we made a slide show and recorded a Springtime song. We invite you to come and listen and see some of the Easter Activities we took part in. Photographs were contributed by Reception, Years 1, 2, 5 and 6. They ranged from the sustainable school environment and class displays to Receptions visit to Cannon Hall farm and Easter activities.
