Love,Affection and Care_ This is what a student desires

Summary

Motherly touch and a tight hug can do the miracle. The student to whom we are to give a shape and a direction,needs love ,affection and care. We always stress to be disciplined but to what extent.Can we tolerate an ugly shape and if not then,be soft to that wax in your hand and try to mold him/her cute. This is your's responsibility towards society.

A teacher's introspection rallated to how love and care can reinforce mutual confidence in class...
I've been an EL teacher for so many years... So many funny and sad events are crossing my mind... We can only notice so many changes regarding classroom discipline, obeying or disobeying school rules... being late for school, chit-chatting over lessons... everyday problems one faces in Croatian schools. My approach is simple: I speak my mind, instantly comment on their behaviour, explain whats, whys, hows... My tone tends to be calm and soft. Since I decided to be a teacher in their teen-age, I find my job a God's blessing! Little by little I can notice little changes: knocking the door when entering the class, sorry/thank you messages, hushing the talkative ones....being just some of the changes after my constant, I mean really regular monologues...They actually start off caring for each other in a very special way... Little things count: no bulling, no loud talking, no movements that can spoil an atmosphere of mutual work deprived of stress and tension in front of a T¨!!!
You may call the approach traditional but I cannot possibly work in an atmosphere of mistrust, disobedience, lack of mutual respect and consideration. Education starts at home! Yes, but some of my Ls were not lucky to learn it in their homes due to so many reasons. My "mission" is to try to involve both: foster human values and teach bits of EL. My heart jumps with joy when I see their gleaming eyes looking at me.. when I monitor their whole development - as Ls and as unique creatures!!! What other profession on earth can compare to ours: being a teacher!
