Oman national football team
AbdulRahman Nabil
hello! this are some information about Oman national football team: The Oman national football team is the national team of Oman and is controlled by the Oman Football Association. Although the team was officially founded in 1978, Oman have been playing football matches since the 60's. It has never qualified for the World Cup but has qualified for the Asian Cup in the years 2004 and 2007, and twice reached the Gulf Cup of Nations final. World Cup record: 1930 to 1982 - Did not enter 1986 - Withdrew 1990 to 2010 - Did not qualify Asian Cup record: 1956 to 1980 - Did not enter 1984 - Did not qualify 1988 - Did not enter 1992 to 2000 - Did not qualify 2004 - Round 1 2007 - Round 1 Gulf Cup of Nations Record: Prior to the new century, Oman struggled greatly in the Gulf Cup, usually finishing in 6th or 7th place, even when the Cup was held in Oman. It was about 1998 when Oman took the Gulf Cup seriously, and in the year 2003/2004 Gulf Cups an explosion of new talent emerged like the familiar names of Imad Al-Hosni, Ali Al-Habsi, Badr Al-Maimani and Khalifa Ayil, which made the team very successful. Most recently the national team lost to the U.A.E. in the final, and in the prior competition lost to Qatar in a penalty-kick shootout. from.abdooo

sports: Sport is an activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. Sports commonly refer to activities where the physical capabilities of the competitor are the sole or primary determiner of the outcome (winning or losing), but the term is also used to include activities such as mind sports (a common name for some card games and board games with little to no element of chance) and motor sports where mental acuity or equipment quality are major factors. Sport is commonly defined as an organized, competitive and skillful physical activity requiring commitment and fair play. Haitham Abdullah Ali al-shipl

Technology has an important role in sports
16 years ago
Haitham Abdullah Ali AL-Shipli
Technology has an important role in sports, whether applied to an athlete's health, the athlete's technique, or equipment's characteristics. Equipment As sports have grown more competitive, the need for better equipment has arisen. Golf clubs, football helmets, baseball bats, soccer balls, hockey skates, and other equipment have all seen considerable changes when new technologies have been applied. Health Ranging from nutrition to the treatment of injuries, as the knowledge of the human body has deepened over time, an athlete's potential has been increased. Athletes are now able to play to an older age, recover more quickly from injuries, and train more effectively than previous generations of athletes. Instruction Advancing technology created new opportunities for research into sports. It is now possible to analyse aspects of sports that were previously out of the reach of comprehension. Being able to use motion capture to capture an athlete's movement, or advanced computer simulations to model physical scenarios has greatly increased an athlete's ability to understand what they are doing and how they can improve Haitham Abdullah Ali AL-Shipli

Physical art AL-ZAEEM
AL-ZAEEM
HI Sports have many affinities with art. Ice skating and Tai chi, and Dancesport for example, are sports that come close to artistic spectacles in themselves. Similarly, there are other activities that have elements of sport and art in their execution, such as artistic gymnastics, skateboarding, Bodybuilding, Free running, performance art, professional wrestling, Yoga, bossaball, dressage, culinary arts, marching band, drum corps, etc. Perhaps the best example is Bull-fighting, which in Spain is reported in the arts pages of newspapers. The fact that art is so close to sports in some situations is probably related to the nature of sports. The definition of "sports" above put forward the idea of an activity pursued not just for the usual purposes, for example, running not simply to get places, but running for its own sake, running as well as we can. This is similar to a common view of aesthetic value, which is seen as something over and above the strictly functional value coming from an object's normal use. So an aesthetically pleasing car is one which doesn't just get from A to B, but which impresses us with its grace, poise, and charisma. In the same way, a sporting performance such as jumping doesn't just impress us as being an effective way to avoid obstacles or to get across streams. It impresses us because of the ability, skill, and style which is shown. Art and sports were probably more clearly linked at the time of Ancient Greece, when gymnastics and calisthenics invoked admiration and aesthetic appreciation for the physical build, prowess and 'arete' displayed by participants. The modern term 'art' as skill, is related to this ancient Greek term 'arete'. The closeness of art and sport in these times was revealed by the nature of the Olympic Games which, as we have seen, were celebrations of both sporting and artistic achievements, poetry, sculpture and architecture. Goalkeeper
16 years ago
Ali khalfan AL-ghithi
the goalkeeper occupies a position that represents the last line of defence between the opponent's offence and his own team's goal. The primary role of the goalkeeper is to defend his team's goal and prevent the opposition from scoring a goal. The goalkeeper is the only player who is permitted to touch the ball with his hands or arms in open play (within his own penalty area). Each team is required to have a goalkeeper on the field at all times during a match. If a goalkeeper is forced to leave the field due to injury or being sent off, another player must occupy the post, even if the team has no substitute goalkeeper available and/or has used up its allotted substitutions. Goalkeeper is often abbreviated GK in lineup cards, match reports, and TV captions. The terms keeper and goalie are also commonly used. This position is colloquially referred as 'custodian' or 'the man between the posts'. When assigning numbers to players on the team, if a squad number system is not in use, the number 1 shirt is usually reserved for the goalkeeper. Notable exceptions include Argentine Ubaldo Fillol, who wore the numbers 5 and 7 at the 1978 and 1982 FIFA World Cups, and Vítor Baía, the Portuguese keeper who wore 99 in the latter part of his career.

Omani Sport teams
ALi khalfan AL-ghithi
Hi there, Just want to add a point to what Rashid said. Well, the main reason that the Omani Sport teams r not very good can refer to that all ofthe players got JOB to take care of instead of being free for sports. In my opinion, to get good skills and to improve levels of playersto give them a JOB called sportsonly. In this way they can get thereliable skills very fast.Normally most of them got their own jobs which take them for the most of the day. If we c the sport teams in Europe for example,we will find that the players r getting trainings for long hours everyday and they dont have other involvements with any other job. This is what makes them professionals and got great skills.

Association football AL-ZAEEM
Haitham Abdullah Ali AL-Shipli
Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players, and is widely considered to be the most popular sport in the world.[1][2][3][4] It is a football variant played on a rectangular grass or artificial turf field, with a goal at each of the short ends. The object of the game is to score by manoeuvring the ball into the opposing goal. In general play, the goalkeepers are the only players allowed to use their hands or arms to propel the ball; the rest of the team usually use their feet to kick the ball into position, occasionally using their torso or head to intercept a ball in midair. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is tied at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time and/or a penalty shootout, depending on the format of the competition. The modern game was codified in England following the formation of The Football Association, whose 1863 Laws of the Game created the foundations for the way the sport is played today. Football is governed internationally by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (International Federation of Association Football), commonly known by the acronym FIFA. The most prestigious international football competition is the FIFA World Cup, held every four years. This event, the most widely viewed in the world, boasts an audience twice that of the Summer Olympic Games.[5] Haitham Abdullah

Haitham Abdullah Ali AL-Shipli
Football is played in accordance with a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game. The game is played using a single spherical ball, known as the football. Two teams of eleven players each compete to get the ball into the other team's goal (between the posts and under the bar), thereby scoring a goal. The team that has scored more goals at the end of the game is the winner; if both teams have scored an equal number of goals then the game is a draw. Haitham Abdullah

Hallo friends : We have here in Oman more than 50 traditional games , read about three traditional Omani games and have a go at playing them with your friends ! Here I will write about one of the Traditional Omani sports : ::AL- YOUS:: AL-YOUS is played mainly in Dhofar and Batinah ,but in some places it is called Bu Halan .This is a great game because it does not need any equipment. This game is fast and it can be played by anyone , anywhere ! There should be two lines 40 metres apart . The two teams of ten players must stand facing each other on either side of the lines. Members of one team must try to the other line while members of the other team chase them and try to catch them . Each team gets four chances to run or catch .The team which catches the most players wins. I hope you will play this sport with your friends. Thank .U.

History of association football
mohammed rashed al-braky
Games revolving around the kicking of a ball have been played in many countries throughout history. According to FIFA, the "very earliest form of the game for which there is scientific evidence was an exercise of precisely this skilful technique dating back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries BC in China (the game of cuju)."[12] Various forms of football were played in medieval Europe, though rules varied greatly by both period and location. The modern rules of football are based on the mid-19th century efforts to standardise the widely varying forms of football played at the public schools of England. The Cambridge Rules, first drawn up at Cambridge University in 1848, were particularly influential in the development of subsequent codes, including association football. The Cambridge Rules were written at Trinity College, Cambridge, at a meeting attended by representatives from Eton, Harrow, Rugby, Winchester and Shrewsbury schools. They were not universally adopted. During the 1850s, many clubs unconnected to schools or universities were formed throughout the English-speaking world, to play various forms of football. Some came up with their own distinct codes of rules, most notably the Sheffield Football Club, formed by former public school pupils in 1857,[13] which led to formation of a Sheffield FA in 1867. In 1862, John Charles Thring of Uppingham School also devised an influential set of rules.[14] mohammed rashed al-braky

Here I will write about one of the Traditional Omani sports : ::AL-Laqqad:: The third game is very popular all over the Sultanate . It is a game of strength and balance . It should be played in place with soft ground and free from sharp objects to prevent injuries . Each team needs a pole or marker to run to. In AL-Laqqad , players are only allowed to use one leg so they have to hop during the game . Each team has nine players and one leader. The leader has to try to reach the pole without being caught by the other team . Players have to help their team win by stopping other players pushing their leader to the ground . Each team leader has three attempts to reach their pile. I hope you will play this sport with your friends. """ HAPPE.......EID """ " 4 ALL " Thank .U.

Snowboarding
AHMED SAEED MOHAMEED AL-GHITHI
Snowboarding, sport often described as “surfing on snow.” Snowboarders descend a slope by standing sideways on a lightweight board about 150 cm (about 5 ft) long, attached to their feet. The sport, which originated in the United States in the late 1960s and early 1970s, borrows techniques and tricks from surfing and skateboarding. Snowboarding gained popularity rapidly in the 1980s and 1990s, partly because it is easy to learn. Most riders attain a degree of proficiency after only a few sessions. The sense of freedom the sport offers, in equipment and techniques, adds to its appeal. Snowboarding can take place wherever skiing does, except on flat, cross-country trails. No poles are used, making it difficult to traverse flat terrain. Deep snow is ideal. Most winter resorts now have special areas for snowboarding known as halfpipes. A halfpipe is a long, deep trench dug in the snow and shaped like a pipe cut in half along its length. Riders “drop in” the pipe, using the walls of the trench to launch themselves into the air and perform a variety of jumps and spins. Halfpipes are located in terrain parks, which consist of easy to intermediate slopes augmented with a variety of bumps, jumps, gaps, and other features that riders use for jumping and doing tricks. Tricks range from riding backwards to spectacular spins and flips performed in the halfpipe. Unlike skiers, who shift their weight from one ski to the other, snowboarders shift their weight from heels (heelside) to toes as well as from one end of the board to the other. When snowboarders shift their weight toward the nose (front of the board), the board heads downhill. When snowboarders shift their weight toward the tail (back of the board), they head uphill or slow down. Riders achieve quick turns by pushing the back foot forward or pulling it backward to change direction. They stop the board’s motion by pushing heels or toes down hard to dig the edge of the snowboard into the snow
