Grandparents make the world a little softer, a little kinder, a little warmer

Summary

Grandparents offer children a broader range of knowledge, emotions and experience than they did as parents. They also inhabit a special place in the family as a trusted adult, yet separate and different from the child's parents, and may provide a safe place for children to turn in times of stress when they feel they cannot approach their parents.

Most children feel a very special bond of affection with their grandparents, but I think that my grandparents are special. My grandparents are my role model that I learn a lot from them. Grandma is lovely and helpful; she spends her time cooking, watching TV and praying. Grandpa is lovable and peaceful. He spends his time planting and listening to the news. I love them a lot. Whenever I feel tired and I need to relax, I visit them. My grandparents’ hospitality and the warmth of their love let me feel at ease. Besides, I like eating there; listening to them and sometimes I even take a nap. Then I return home contented. Gaelle Saad, Rosary School, Burj hammoud. Lebanon.
