The Environment

We are at the very beginning of a long journey to gain the status of Eco-School. We will hold environmental days and each class will be involved at some point during the year in an environment related project(Literacy, PSHE, science, geography, MFL...) Our aim is to raise children awareness and understanding of global issues and share these with schools across the world. We could compare how each locality is affecting the environment and look at how we can improve the impact we are making on the world. Will you celebrate Water World Day in March? Join us for World Environment week next June! We could compare our strategies for recycling and design posters to promote responsible attitudes. Why not creating an International Green School Council we could do some serious tidy up together! e.g conduct a litter audit around the school, green council to establish a rota for litter collection each day, sort litter into recyclable & non-recyclable type and compare the differences in the types and amounts of litter found in each school...
